Ring-roller mills are probably the most efficient size-reduction equipment for manufacturing powders upto 350mesh particle-size.
PROCESS:
The RAPRA Ring-Roller-Mill contains 3/5 rollers which rotate on
a ring. The material, to be ground, is fed through the rotary feed
into the grinding-chamber. The material is crushed in between
the rollers and the ring. The powder is air-lifted and the classifier
passes only the required-fines. The coarse particles are not
allowed to pass the grinding-chamber till they become of the required
mesh-size. The fines are seperated out fom the air-flow by the effecient
cyclones, and the product is collected through the air-lock
valve, which keeps the air inside the machine and only passes out
the fine-product. The working atmosphere is dust-free due to the
special 'negative-pressure' created inside the RAPRA machine and
its high effecient design.

The main force which results in the compression of the material is the centrifugal-force developed by the rotation of the rollers on the ring.
The mill is suitable for almost all Minerals, Chemicals, Insecticides, Resins, Sulphur, Coal, Quartz, Calcium-Carbonate, etc. The RAPRA mills are designed for high productions with the least power-consumption and trouble.
